O Cádavo → Lugo
A stage of the Camino Primitivo
This long 29-kilometre stage on the Camino Primitivo descends 506 metres toward the ancient Roman city of Lugo — one of the great arrivals on any Camino route. Despite relatively modest elevation change, the distance alone justifies the challenging rating after a week of mountain walking. Lugo's intact Roman walls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site encircling the entire old town, come into view as you approach, and entering the city through one of its ancient gates is a genuine highlight of the entire Primitivo.
