Sarria → Portomarín
A stage of the Camino Francés
This 21-kilometre stage on the Camino Francés departs Sarria — the last town where pilgrims can begin and still earn the Compostela — and descends through eucalyptus forest and oak woodland to the reservoir town of Portomarín. The route crosses a long bridge over the Embalse de Belesar, where the original town now lies submerged beneath the water. It is typically one of the busiest stages on the entire Camino.
