Cadavedo → Luarca
A stage of the Camino del Norte
The natural counterpart to the previous day's hard climb, this 19.9 km moderate stage on the Camino del Norte descends dramatically — 490 metres down — from the heights above Cadavedo to the fishing village of Luarca. The minimal ascent (69 metres) keeps the day manageable, though knees will feel the long downhill before it is done. Luarca is one of the most picturesque towns on the Asturian coast, with a well-sheltered harbour, whitewashed buildings stacked above the water, and a cliff-top cemetery that has become one of the Norte's iconic views.
