Ferreira → Melide
A stage of the Camino Primitivo
The longest remaining stage on the Camino Primitivo at over 31 kilometres, this challenging day ends in Melide — the point where pilgrims on the Primitivo join the much busier Camino Francés for the final approach to Santiago. The route descends 450 metres through rolling Galician hills, and the last kilometres see a noticeable increase in fellow pilgrims. Melide is celebrated throughout Galicia for its pulpo a la gallega, and the town's octopus restaurants have long been a reward for weary walkers arriving from the north.
