Logroño → Nájera
A stage of the Camino Francés
One of the longer meseta-edge stages at 27.9 km on the Camino Francés, this day crosses the heart of La Rioja with 291 m of gradual climbing through vineyards, low ridges, and cereal fields under wide Iberian skies. The town of Navarrete, about a third of the way along, offers a natural rest stop with a fine Baroque church. Nájera, the destination, sits in a small river canyon and was once a royal seat of Navarre, with a monastery carved partly into the red-rock cliffs above the Najerilla river.
