Sobrado dos Monxes → Arzúa
A stage of the Camino del Norte
A moderate 21.3 km stage on the Camino del Norte that descends gently from the monastery at Sobrado dos Monxes to Arzúa, with a negligible 8 metres of ascent and a steady 176-metre descent through Galician woodland and farmland. Arzúa is where the Norte merges with the Camino Francés, and the sudden increase in pilgrim traffic can come as a genuine surprise after the solitude of the northern coast. The town is well known for its local Arzúa-Ulloa cheese and has solid facilities for the final push to Santiago.
