Berducedo → Grandas de Salime
A stage of the Camino Primitivo
At under 17 kilometres this stage looks short on paper, but an 852-metre descent makes it one of the most physically demanding days on the Camino Primitivo. From the elevated village of Berducedo the route drops steeply through mountain terrain toward Grandas de Salime, a village beside a large hydroelectric reservoir near the Asturian-Galician border. Knees take a considerable beating on the long descent, and trekking poles are strongly advised.
