One of the flattest stages on the entire Camino Francés at 18.7 km, with only 58 m of climb and a negligible 12 m of descent, this day follows an almost perfectly level path along and beside the Canal de Castilla through a broad agricultural plain. The walking is straightforward but the monotony can surprise pilgrims expecting varied terrain; the trade-off is easy progress. Carrión de los Condes is the largest town in this section of the meseta, with a range of services and several historic churches.
